Sanctuary (1999)
Urged by her father to make a recording of hymns, Claire collaborates with producer John Plymale and a handful of North Carolina musicians on this visionary collection of gospel songs set to Claire’s own arrangements. The earthy instrumentation–mandolin, dobro, upright bass–blends distinctively with Claire’s plaintive voice.
“Every time we play ‘Bounty of the Lord’ or ‘Come Thou Fount’ the phones ring and ring.” (Keith Weston, WUNC Chapel Hill, NC).
Night Air (1997)
